The draft version of the 2022 Comprehensive Plan is now available for public comment. This public comment period will end on September 19, 2022.
The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year plan that is updated every 10 years The purpose of this 2022 Comprehensive Plan is the vision of what the County wants to become over the next 20 years and the steps needed to bring this vision to fruition. It serves as the policy guide and framework for future growth and development, infrastructure and capital improvements, and resource management and conservation. This Comprehensive Plan is a unified advisory document to inform the County Commissioners, the Planning Commission, and County departments, as well as stakeholders, non-profit organizations, social services, and the citizens, businesses owners, and constituents of Garrett Couty.
A public hearing on the plan will be held during the September 7th Planning Commission Meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room.
