Filing Garrett County Ethics Commission Complaint requirements are in compliance with the State Government Article 15-401, et seq. of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
- A Garrett County Ethics Commission complaint form may be obtained through the Garrett County Administrator or filed on-line.
- If submitting via hard copy, the person filing the complaint must return the completed form to the Garrett County Administrator.
- The Garrett County Administrator will then send a certified copy - registered mail to the Garrett County Ethics Commission and the person named in the complaint.
- The person on whom the complaint is being filed will then have 15 days in which to respond. Once a response is received a hearing will be held with the Garrett County Ethics Commission to determine if there is cause to proceed to a hearing.
Failure to respond to the notification of the complaint form will have an unfavorable effect and could result in a default hearing with no input from the non-responding party.
