Comprehensive Plan

The 2022 Garrett County Comprehensive Plan (66.35 MB) was adopted by the Garrett County Commissioners on November 22, 2022. The Plan contains the vision of what the County wants to become over the next 20 years and outlines steps needed to bring this vision to fruition. It serves as the policy guide and framework for future growth and development; infrastructure and capital improvements; and resource management and conservation. The Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland requires jurisdictions to adopt a Comprehensive Plan and outlines requirements governing content and adoption procedures. Each jurisdiction must review and, if necessary, update its Plan every ten years.
