Final Opportunity for a Free Chromebook

Garrett County Government is issuing a final call for eligible residents to receive a free Chromebook through the county’s device distribution program. Remaining Chromebooks are available at the local Ruth Enlow Libraries branches and must be distributed by May 1, 2025.

This initiative is part of the statewide effort to close the digital divide by providing income-qualified households with access to technology. Devices are available to Garrett County residents who have not previously received a Chromebook at their address under this program.

Chromebooks are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. One device is permitted per eligible household. A simple application form and eligibility guidelines can be found here: https://www.garrettcountymd.gov/broadband/devices

"We believe that access to technology is essential in today's digital world. Through this effort, we want to connect Garrett County residents with the means to enhance their educational, professional, and personal opportunities," said Cheryl DeBerry, Broadband & Energy Manager for Garrett County Government and program coordinator.

Residents are encouraged to visit their local Ruth Enlow Library branch during open hours to pick up the Chromebook:
