Digital Opportunity Plan

In 2024, Garrett County was selected to be an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant subrecipient for a Connect Humanity project, assisting rural Appalachian communities in developing plans to tackle digital education, opportunities, equity and inclusion and to be able to take advantage of upcoming funding opportunities.

The consultant, Rural Innovation Strategies, Inc., subcontracting with CTC Technology & Energy, has released the first part of the plan, which lays out how addressing Digital Opportunities will bolster Garrett County's economy.  Below is a link to that plan:

Additional plan documents will be released as they are completed.

Up next are stakeholder interviews.  Organizations in Garrett County that do work in the Digital Opportunity space will share their experiences, needs, and gaps with the consultant.
