The Garrett County Compliance Recognition and Retailer Training will be held May 20, 2024, at Garrett College. This event will recognize those businesses and organizations who recently passed compliance checks as well as provide an ID training and alcohol awareness certification class. The event is open to all licensed businesses, non-profit organizations and other organizations and individuals who host or sponsor events with the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
There will be two training sessions. Mark Baxter will provide a "Fake ID Trends & Detection Methods" retailer training during the morning session. Martin Johnson will teach an approved alcohol awareness certification class called “Maryland Alcohol Service Training Employee Responsibility Seminar (MASTERS)” training after lunch. Mark Baxter and Martin Johnson have participated in these trainings in the past. They are experts in their field and will provide you and your staff with the latest information. The MASTERS alcohol awareness class will qualify as an approved alcohol awareness certification comparable TIPS, TAM, or S.A.S trainings.

There is no cost to attend this event, but you will need to register. Individuals can register for the entire day, the morning session, or the afternoon session.
