Garrett County’s current total positives for COVID-19 is at 1,240, with the addition of 50 news cases
since the Garrett County Health Department’s last report on Friday, December11th. The total county deaths due to COVID-19 or its complications is now 20, an increase of 6. The age range of the local deaths is from 61 to 99.
The current comparison of Garrett County to state numbers is as follows:
- 7-day positivity rate among Garrett County residents is 15.7% (Maryland rate is 7.5%)
- 7-day case rate per 100,000 among Garrett County residents is 87.2 (Maryland rate is 46.4)
Garrett County is conducting weekly free COVID-19 testing on Tuesdays (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and Thursdays (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), at the MEDCO Building in the McHenry Business Park, located off Bumble Bee Road between Hart for Animals and the Garrett County Airport. There is no out-of-pocket cost at this site, and no need for appointments and doctors’ orders. Be prepared for a possible wait.

Or scan the QR code on garretthealth.org with your smartphone. After completing the registration, you will receive an email with a Booking ID number to share with staff at the testing. You will be able to log into the patient portal to view your results when they are available.
