The Garrett County Health Department has announced a change in the schedule for community testing at the McHenry Business Park for the week of December 21. Testing will be held on Tuesday only; there will be no testing on Thursday, which is Christmas Eve.
The testing hours on Tuesday, December 22, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are expanded hours in order to accommodate the increased demand for testing around the holiday season. There will be no testing on Thursday, December 24.
Current plans include testing on Tuesday, December 29 (9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), and Thursday, December 31 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
These free COVID-19 testing events will be held at the MEDCO Building in the McHenry Business Park, located off Bumble Bee Road between Hart for Animals and the Garrett County Airport. There is no out-of-pocket cost to get a test at this site, and appointments and doctors’ orders are not required. Be prepared for a possible wait.
Preregistration is recommended to speed up the process on the testing day. Visit garretthealth.org for preregistration information.
Anyone with COVID-19 like symptoms and a doctor’s order may call Health Department 301-334-7697 to schedule a testing appointment at the Oakland office.
