Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, the Garrett County Government has been hard at work to continue to offer as many services as possible to the public.
Most departments have been at normal capacity and are adjusting processes to limit exposure and follow social distancing guidelines.
To help the public, a secure drop box has been installed at the front entrance of the courthouse.
The box will easily receive a legal-sized deed (8 ½ x 14) from the attorney/title company offices. Also, any payment or paperwork can be dropped in the box.
Payments and paperwork can be dropped off in the lockbox for:
- Property Taxes
- Accommodation Taxes
- Trailer Park Taxes
- Coal Tonnage Taxes
- Department of Public Utilities Water & Sewer Payments
- Animal Licenses
- Liquor Licenses
- Business Licenses
- Building Permits
- ATV Permits
- Trash Permits
- Deeds
Please place the payment in an envelope, write the account number on the check and/or include a remittance form or report when necessary.
Payments can be deposited before, during, or after business hours and items will be retrieved by county staff at least once per business day at 8:30am. All payments will be applied to the prior business day.
Call the Garrett County Collection office at 301-334-1965 or 301-334-1945 if you have any questions.
