Governor Hogan’s Order requiring the use of face coverings in retail establishments remains in effect.
To make it even clearer, Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens issued a Directive and Order on May 19 reinforcing the face covering requirement. The document is being delivered to retail businesses and personal care services in Garrett County today, with an effective date of Thursday, May 21, at 7 a.m.
The Directive and Order makes it clear that both customers and employees are required to wear face coverings, and businesses are required to post a notice of the requirement and establish a process to control access to anyone without a face covering.
Businesses are also required to limit the number of customers in the facility to promote social distancing space.
Retail businesses or personal care services with questions may call the Health Department at 301-334-7760 for assistance.
