Wings and Wheels Fly-In This Saturday

Aviation enthusiasts and classic car lovers are in for a treat at the annual Wings & Wheels Fly-In event scheduled for this Saturday August 3, 2024. This free community event promises a day full of displays, activities, delicious food, and family-friendly entertainment from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Garrett County Airport.

Attendees will have the opportunity to get up close with a variety of aircraft, meet the pilots, see remote controlled planes, and admire vintage and classic cars in the Split Shifter's Classic Car Show. There is also an exclusive meeting tent for pilots to meet, relax, and talk with each other.

There will also be a unique bicycle show and a fun scavenger hunt new this year. Special scheduled performances include a War Bird Display/Performance at 11:00 AM, exciting Piper Cub EAA Rides, and a Kids' Candy Drop at 1:00 PM.

Food and refreshments will be plentiful, featuring Lakeside Creamery Ice Cream, Sweitzer's BBQ, Travel Mug Coffee, and offerings from the Mary and Martha Ministry from Faith Church including hot dogs, baked goods, popcorn, and more. Admission to the event is free, allowing everyone to enjoy all the activities and performances without any cost.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for families and individuals to enjoy a day of fun and learning. With a mix of aviation and automotive displays, performances, and delicious food, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Please note that this event is outdoors, and the schedule and displays may be subject to change depending on weather conditions. Dogs on leash are welcomed.
