2026 Gubernatorial General Election Information
Early Voting Dates & Times: There are two early vote centers in Garrett County: Oakland Community Center located at 14 N 8th St Oakland, MD and Grantsville Vol Fire Dept Hall located at 178 Springs Rd Grantsville, MD. Both vote centers are open Thursday October 22, 2026 thru Thursday October 29, 2026 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Election Day: November 3, 2026 open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
Canvass Dates and Times: 1st Mail-In Ballot Canvass November 5, 2026 / Provisional Canvass November 12, 2026 / Final Mail-In Ballot Canvass November 13, 2026 All canvasses convene at 10:00 am at the Garrett Co Board of Elections Conference Room located at 2008 Maryland Hwy Suite 1, Mtn Lake Park, MD
The Risk Limiting Audit will be conducted at 9:00 am on November 24, 2026 at the Garrett Co Board of Elections Conference Room located at 2008 Maryland Hwy Suite 1, Mtn Lake Park, MD

Mission
The Garrett County Board of Elections is responsible for maintaining voter registration and overseeing the conduct of all County, State and Federal Elections held in Garrett County.
The Garrett County Board of Election conducts a monthly meeting on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Board’s Office Conference Room located at 2008 Maryland Hwy. Suite 1 Mtn Lake Park, MD. All Board meetings are open to the public. Closed executive sessions, when deemed necessary, will commence at the end of the open meeting. The meeting will be live streamed at https://www.garrettcountymd.gov/elections/live
